Brooklyn Engagement Photos – Meet Brian and Tom!

I’ve been holding out on blogging Brian and Tom’s engagement shoot, but I couldn’t wait any longer! First I want to mention that Brian keeps a blog called The Gay Wedding Experience and it is a great read for anyone who is planning a wedding. Brian is very detail oriented and organized (at least his blog leads me to believe that…), so perhaps it wasn’t so surprising that when I mentioned I was bringing chalk boards, Brian and Tom turned up with a backpack filled with props. Fun? Fun!

I’m excited to share these photos! (Though I realize if you are a fan on facebook then you’ve already had a peek at a lot of them.) Brian and Tom were amazing to work with and I cannot wait (truly I can’t) to capture their big day in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this fall. Their wedding is going to be amazing (trust me), but for now check out their engagements session.

Happy Father’s Day

It’s father’s day, so I thought I’d break my ‘blog mold’ and do a post in honor of my dad, who passed away when I was a teenager. I am who I am today because of my parents. Every day I see pieces of their personalities in myself and I love it!

I also know that my strong family roots and upbringing has influenced me not just as a person, but as a photographer. I am in love with the way people interact with one another. I adore the tiny things they do in between the moments you’re meant to capture and I find myself always looking for those ‘in between’ moments. They are the interactions and expressions that truly show the relationships people share.

I went back through some old files to find some of my favorite ‘dad’ shots from portrait and event shoots to share with you. From the father holding his newborn baby for the first time or the dad giving a speech at his daughter’s wedding, I’m so grateful to the families who let me in on these moments, trusting me to preserve them. I treasure photographs of my own family and it’s an honor to be creating memories for others.

Atlantic City Engagement Shoot – Stacey and Christopher

A few weeks back I headed down to Atlantic City for Stacey and Chris’ engagement session. Those who follow my blog might remember Stacey and Chris from Dana and Anthony’s wedding in Jamaica. Post-jumping into Montego Bay (in full wedding gear!), Stacey’s sister threw her bouquet and Stacey caught it! Perhaps the old wives’ tale is true, because I’ll be heading to Mexico exactly one month from now to photograph Stacey and Chris’ destination wedding!

The two met in Atlantic City at the Casbah Nightclub, so it was a perfect choice for their engagement shoot. We had a lot of fun exploring the boardwalk and casinos (occasionally getting ourselves in a bit of trouble). I can’t wait to join the two and their families in Mexico next month!

Newborn Shoot – Eli!

June 15, 2010 – 1:35 pm

Meet Eli! Eli was only eight days old when these photos were taken. I had a wonderful time working with him and his parents. Usually during newborn shoots, the babies are fast asleep. Parents are always trying to get them to open their eyes, if only for one photo. Eli was the opposite! He would not fall asleep and it was adorable. He was wide-eyed for the first hour and a half of shooting, until he finally fell asleep in dad’s arms. Once he did, he was out and we were able to capture some adorable sleeping photos! Enjoy…
