I’m so excited to bring you Lyndsey and Jon’s engagement shoot. We lucked out with one of those unseasonably warm winter days with pretty gorgeous lighting! It was my first time shooting at Liberty State Park and I loved it. Lyndsey and Jonathan were so easygoing and fun to work with – I can’t wait to shoot their wedding (on my birthday!) this March at The Grove in Cedar Grove, NJ. Congratulations guys!

Interactive Guest Book!
This past weekend was the Lovesick Expo at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. It was a total honor to exhibit along side of a select group of talented and unique wedding vendors – I can’t wait to share more about it.
At the expo I displayed a few of my new products for 2012, but this interactive guestbook was such a huge hit that I knew I had to share it on the blog. The book is 10×10″, 30 pages and completely customizable with images from your engagement shoot as well as questions for your wedding guests to answer on your big day. It makes a truly unique keepsake from your wedding day!
Little Bay Park Engagement Shoot – Meet Marysol and Jason!
Marysol and Jason chose their first date spot, Little Bay Park in Queens, for their engagement shoot. I love getting to shoot in new locations and this park has beautiful views of the Long Island Sound and the Throgs Neck Bridge and lots of photo worthy spots. Working with the two of them was so much fun. They brought a ton of energy and excitement to the shoot, which made it a fun day for all of us. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year at Stage 6 Steiner Studios!

A Sneak Peek Mash-Up
Asbury Park Engagement Shoot – Kelly and Dan
I had an awesome time working with Kelly and Dan (& Marvin!) on their engagement shoot. I love getting out of the city every now and then for shoots and Asbury Park has so many fantastic photo spots, it was a bit overwhelming! By the end of our time together I’m pretty sure we all had cheek aches from smiling and laughing so much! Working with them made me really excited to shoot their wedding this November. I know it’s going to be an awesome time. Thanks guys, for all the laughs and for being so much fun to work with – enjoy!
Brooklyn Promenade Surprise Proposal and a CD Cover
I captured an adorable surprise engagement proposal on the Brooklyn Promenade a year ago. When Will hired me and told me about his idea to surprise his girlfriend, Lindsay, on the Promenade, he mentioned that he wanted a guitarist to play “Stand By Me” – their song – as he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage (I know, swoon!). Straight away, I thought to ask the musically-talented folks at my favorite coffee spot, Roots Cafe. Sure enough, one of their baristas, Gypsy George, was available and willing!
Come the hour of the surprise proposal I was nervous: Not only did I have to sneak around the Promenade to make sure that I wasn’t spotted snapping shots before the proposal went down, but I also had to signal to Gypsy George to let him know when to start playing “Stand By Me.” Needless to say, my heart was racing! Luckily, it all went down smoothly, it was really romantic, and Lindsay said yes!
It’s now a year later and Gypsy George has used one of the images from the surprise proposal for his CD cover! (It’s the first image of the post below.) There’s also a CD release party tonight at Roots Cafe. If you’re local or in the neighborhood, it goes from 7:30-10:30 p.m. (Oh, and click here to check out a sweet love shoot I did at Roots with the owners!)

Coney Island Engagement – CJ and Mike
You may remember back in April I captured Mike’s proposal to CJ on the Brooklyn Promenade. A few weeks ago we sat down to discuss shooting their wedding and engagement and I mentioned (knowing they’re big sports fans) that I kept envisioning their engagement shoot at a sports stadium. Well, leave it to Mike to make it happen because next thing I know – we’re shooting at the Coney Island Cyclone’s Stadium! Since shooting their surprise proposal, Mike and CJ have become friends of mine and the more I get to know them, the more I completely adore them. They were such fun in Coney Island. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Galapagos next fall!

Central Park Engagement Shoot – Vusala and Gurban
Meet the adorable Vusala and her fiance Gurban. I had been talking with Vusala for a while about their destination wedding, so it was really excited to finally meet them! We had a really wonderful shoot in Central Park that felt very ‘fall’ to me. As my readers know, I love the fall weather and I’m excited that it is upon us (though you wouldn’t know it today!). Vusala and Gurban were so much fun to be around. I love to watch how couples interact and I think it’s pretty obvious just how much these two love one another (as you will see in their photos below). I can’t wait to head to Jamaica with these two in January!

Vintage Engagement Shoot – Allison and Greg
Allison and Greg are planning an adorable vintage wedding to take place this November at the Old Field Club in East Setauket. When we sat down to talk about their engagement shoot, Greg was a bit hesitant to do one. We threw around some ideas at our initial meeting, but when Allison emailed me with her final idea – I was totally in love. As they’re ‘mad about Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn’ they decided to theme their engagement shoot around Grant/Hepburn movie scenes and posters. I thought Greg would be nervous, but he was hysterical! He had all these ‘back stories’ for the shots we were setting up that had me and Allison in hysterics. Engagement shoots always psych me up to shoot a couple’s wedding – I was excited before, I’m ten times as excited now!
