Headshots!

Last Tuesday, I spent the day at Space4Shoots in Manhattan doing a series of headshots. While I love on location shoots, it’s also really nice to be in the studio for the day, especially when it’s freezing out! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.

24 Hours

I really, really, really love my job. Some days, when I’m on my way to ‘work’ I get the urge to pinch myself, because it’s hard to believe that I actually get to do what I love to do for a living. There many things I love about being a photographer, but the best things of all are the people I get to meet and the places I get to go.

I’m also luck to be a photographer in New York, because I have an endless supply of amazing ‘backdrops’ and I try to never take that for granted. I also think its amazing that I get to interact with so many wonderful people! From musicians, to new parents, to couples in love, to aspiring actors, to hysterical pre-schoolers… how could I ever get bored?

I’ve been super busy lately, so blogging is going to have to take a bit of a back-seat. But here is a peak at all the fun shoots I had in the last 24 hours (minus all the film I’ve been shooting, which I hope to post soon!).

Mia!

We’ve had a lot of gloomy weather lately, so my hopes for Saturday were not set high. In fact, I had no intentions of shooting outdoors at all. I had two shoots planned, both indoor. All day Friday I kept checking the weather, but it called for rain every hour on Saturday. I woke up bright and early Saturday to head to Queens for a shoot (will blog that one later!), to my surprise there wasn’t a drop of rain!

I had the pleasure of photographing Mia early Saturday afternoon. Mia is a totally adorable six year old with one of the most amazing personalities ever! She’s hysterical and super fun to be around. I had such a blast spending the afternoon with her, her mom and aunt and I’m really excited about the shots we got. Mia is needed headshots to enter a GapKids contest – I wish her lots and lots of luck!!!

Lauren – Headshots

I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren the other day near the water in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The weather was gorgeous, which was a nice change from all the rain we’ve been experiencing! It definitely felt great to do some natural light headshots for a change.

Lauren was so much fun to work with. This is my favorite image so far. Can’t wait to see which images Lauren chooses as her favorite. Thanks for a great shoot!2blog1.jpg

Jared

About three seconds after Edyln left, Jared showed up. He’d never had headshots before (you’d never know!) We had a great time working together and his photos turned out great!

Edyln

Today Edyln came by my home studio for a headshot shoot. A big ‘thank you’ to her for putting up with the trains, which normally run well, but of course not on a day when I have two headshot appointments coming! Anyway, I had a great time working with Edyln and listening to Spamalot (her choice of music and it was great!).

And she says she doesn’t consider herself photogenic!
